your question regarding the 'underground scene is coming back to me. frankly
the concept doesn't apply here - because any 'scene' is underground here !
:-)
-  there is small art scene compared to the number of people and things
happening here....
-  but there are artists writers who are doing all kinds of things and have
various infuences
even high art has problems surviving. but a lot of folk stuff.....

what do others think

the alliance francaise and goethe institut in karachi might also be helpful
for your trip.
