"A dream. A red dream. A dream with a long beard ..." 160 years ago in  
Brussels, Karl Marx & Friedrich Engels wrote the Communist Manifesto,  
enduring years of exile crucial to the development of Marxist thought  
and the organisation of communist movements across the world. "A  
spectre is haunting Europe: the spectre of communism..."It is time for  
a brief "herstory" lesson with artists from andcompany&Co. Their  
auto-mobile for utopias, lost and found - a red minibus equipped with a  
table and camping chairs - will be travelling around the city during  
the month of May. Sascha, Nicola, Alex, Bini & Co will bring Brussels  
to life from a new-old perspective while elections are in full swing in  
the city: EURO-Communism. The members of the Committee will be at the  
festival center from Wednesday till Saterday; come and meet them to  
share the stories of utopia collected during the day. And on the last  
night it's EUROPARTY time!

3. HiB-PLAYTIME! "end of drama. begin of game."

&Co.LAB / lecture concert feat. Günther Sarah, Karschnia Alexander,  
Markos Viktor, Nord Nicola, Sulimma Sascha & Co.


The funeral- and marriage-ceremony of Heiner Müller’s "Hamletmachine"  
is turned into a performance in which Müller’s idea of a ‘theatre of  
resurrection’ comes to life using elements of the Mexican death-cult,  
danse macabre, electronic folk- and dance-music: “grieve turned into  
cheering, cheering into munching”. In a temporary collaborative  
laboratory Hamlet’s drama – inbetween melancholy & revolt in Berlin  
1953 or 1956, 1989 and 2006 in Budapest – is transformed into a game in  
which the text is at stake: From the end of drama to a trilingual  
theatrical game-show which gambles with the text in order to come back  
into play.
The performance is a collective reading as well as a concert, a walk  
through the text and a ghost-ride through history: “The insurrection  
begins as a stroll.”


“HiB-Hamlet in Budapest. Hamlet in Berlin.” is a common project of  
Workshop Foundation (Budapest) and Internationale Heiner Müller  
Gesellschaft (Berlin) feat. andcompany&Co. and SPACE, supported by  
bipolar German–Hungarian Cultural Cooperations. Bipolar is an  
Initiative of the Federal Cultural Foundation (Kulturstiftung des  
Bundes).

3. TIME REPUBLIC

In summer 2007 andcompany&Co. will start developing their new
theater-performance TIME REPUBLIC which will premiere
at the STEIRISCHERHERBST in Graz for the TELLING TIME Festival end of
Septembre and will tour through Europe in Octobre and Novembre
through the following theaters:
