DynCorp's Shameful Conduct in Bosnia

While not always at war, and while not always populated by the same
(Slavic) peoples, North edge of the mountainous Balkans was always
heavily militarized, since the beginnings of organized State: whether
this was Tito's communist armies, or Hapsburg military border, or the
source of fiercest Ottoman soldiers, or the region with the highest
number of military bases in Roman Empire (even more than in the
Middle East - both regions being troublesome even in those times...).
With the exception of Tito's rule, region was militarized by
outsiders, not by local population, and often not for the benefit of
the local population. And with the heavy militarization came the
rest: violent crime, prostitution, drugs, trafficking in people and
illegal substances, etc. The latest violent outburst against
religious objects in Kosovo and Bosnia right under the eyes of
international forces tasked with preventing violence just being the
last in the row of bad news for those who hoped that outsiders would
actually help them. On the contrary, some hi-level corporations,
Pentagon contractors even do business with Serbian mafia trafficking
in women.
