  Hi folks

Just wanted to let you know about two fresh articles now on my site.
(Actually one's a few months old, but hey!) Look for a new and improved

  website-personal blog later this winter.

  Cameo Demons
  http://www.techgnosis.com/scg.html

The unedited version of a Wire profile of the reclusive and

sarcastically esoteric underground rock group Sun City Girls. "When they
first hit the stage with their peculiar mix of sardonic rock, trickster
improv, and hippie mysteriosa, they could only get gigs at punk shows,
and
the crowds responded to their baffling sets and bizarre costumes with
anger

and violence. The band came to aggressively taunt these people, dishing
out
verbal abuse, sarcastic musical moves, and the occasional cup of urine."

  Cross Purposes

A review of Slavoj Zizek's very cool The Puppet and the Dwarf.
"Besides
containing the most extensive analysis ever undertaken of the German
Kinder
Surprise egg toy, The Puppet and the Dwarf is Zizek's most compelling and
passionate writing on Christianity to date, one founded on the wacky

assertion that 'to become a true dialectical materialist, one should go
  through the Christian experience.'"

For those of you in Europe:

On February 2, I will be lecturing on Burning Man at the Transmediale Fly

  Utopia! conference in Berlin.

A similar lecture will go down in London at the ICA on February 4th.

More nebulous and nomadic talks will occur at the Gage conference in Hull
on
February 6th, and the Horse Hospital in London on February 10th, the
latter

with the amazingly knowledgeable space nut Ken Hollings.

  Cheers,
  Erik
