'Globalization' exhibition @ Wigged

  Wigged Productions (http://www.wigged.net), an autonomous online cultural

  organization dedicated to making new and innovative art more accessible
  through broadcast and Web based presentations, is pleased to announce the

  opening of its online exhibition 'Globalization'. The show is curated by

  Humberto Ramirez and runs through December 31, 2004.


  This Net Art event gathers the work of individual artists and collectives
  addressing the often paradoxical discourses intersecting the concept of

  globalization. All the profiled cultural producers work within a realm of

  social critique. Tactical media operations are represented by the

  collectives subRosa, Critical Art Ensemble and ®TMark. These collectives
  address pressing issues of radical contingency, such as the often 
unexamined

  rise of biotechnologies, cyberfeminism and global consumerism.

  Agricola de Cologne's extensive 'Violence Online Festival' and 'Over My 
Dead

  Body' by Joseph Rabie represent virtual actions determined to build engaged
  electronic communities participating in cultural criticism and online

  political activism. The web remix project by denniscucumber is a wonderful

  form of semiotic disruption embracing the randomness and bizarreness of the

  immense virtual horizon of the global web.  David Crawford's animated
  photographs are quietly loaded with insights and voyeuristic delights as he

  seamlessly brings forward global alienation from the catacombs of the

  world's subways.


  'Globalization', in addition to being featured on Wigged, has been invited
  to participate in "[R][R][F] 2004" an online project that launches February

  20th, 2004 at the National Museum of Contemporary Art Bucaresti/Romania.

  "[R][R][F] 2004" is an ongoing project developed by Agricola de Cologne and

  will run until the end of 2004.
