I was also shocked by the sentence seen in

Reuters reports that Dorota Nieznalska is the first
person who has been senteced for offending religious 
feelings in Poland.
The judge Tomas Zielinski admitted that he is not
an art expert, but "the cross is the symbol of sufferance,
where Christ died. No doubt: the Cross was profaned".
Dorota Nieznlalska has to pay 2000 zloty (500 USD) penalty, 
her passport is withdrawn for six months and
she has been sentenced to 20 hours/month
penal servitude for a half a year.
