and mez was replying ... she felt more attacked than intended
and basically the discussion went to some points which were actually not at 
all the points

in any case it was not about not supporting her .. as Syndicate is open ... 
we do not exclude anyone
I guess this goes a little further because basically the question is 'what 
is support' ?

let's go further in the thread:
there were a lot of misunderstandings
it got very emotional ... we had this before ... it's not bad I think ...

mez was suggesting that frederic is completely stupid
kind of annoying, because she should know, it's not the case
she was asking what the difference is between Syndicate and other lists
and f. was replying that this is the point .. she is not reading it, 
otherwise she would know
and got back to his idea that crossposting is damaging something

I tried to explain my viewpoint
which then nn tried to translate a little in parts ( smack ) ... hmmm ... 
some doubts on my side, if this worked
furthermore f. was suggesting that
we possibly should enter some kind of era of neo-socialism ( smack ) by 
cutting every crossposts from outside
and ended up with a 'sweetest-girl' bouquet - two different opinions and 
some flowers. a perception that they would pobably not get to one viewpoint

well, we agreed on Syndicate that we will not exclude ANYONE, so ...
and that we oppose exclusion ..
is this support ?
what else should we do ? besides of what Anna mentioned,

entering in a cross list war ( we had this before also ) by sending 
messages everywhere that they are all dull ?
I guess we try to clearify the situation
discussion has to be .. it would be worse if there was none
we do not get out of this without asking questions
clearifying the situation .. but in any case mez has to decide her position 
for herself and for her art

so ...
what do we perceive ... the net gets closed up more and more .. this will 
continue probably .. there is oviously a big need for protection .. it's 
better for everyone who wants to gain power .. plus there is not enough 
consciousness that it could be different possibly .. our lovely lefts ( 
spectre etc... ) do not act differently to the rights ..

the open mailing lists are those, which mez needs, it's important that 
people get the messages sent

well, Syndicate stands it and in a few years there will not be many lists 
left which will accept every message
and if Syndicate grows and all the people crosspost from outside we might 
have to change to some kind of self moderation system as some time 
discussed ..
who knows ...

question is, if there is another solution
and this was the point where this started from
a) basic question: do you have to crosspost to Syndicate, while we are 
trying to keep the channels open that you need
or would it be possibly an idea to rather engage in the forum in a way that 
would help to build up alternative channels

I think this is a good question, because if not ... and the other channels 
now on the net break down
what then with her art ?

I basically have some doubts that her work is really depending on 
crossposting ... it is in my viewpoint much more about absorbing and then 
compressing and resending a trans.coded version ... my viewpoint
it does not have to get less rich if she is sending her works more selectivly
as I have explained before I can see some reason in sending extensively 
crossposted to moderated mailing lists ..
I actually make a difference here, as well as frederic .. also I think that 
Syndicate needs forces coming from outside
because it keeps it fluid ... have explained this before .. I guess we have 
enough of this, also if mez would decide that she would possibly rather 
engage in this forum and her messages would be more addressed ( this was 
f.'s suggestion )
.. and it would be very valuable for Syndicate ..
if they were more addressed people would probably also reply to it more .. 
could be nice, or not ?
( and then they would possibly also make a viewpoint to the subject of 
Syndicate which is about East-West communication ( a Western East-West 
remix ? ), although our East is quite silent at the moment, it is a very 
important issue at least to me ... am curious and basically think that 
there are much more misunderstandings than in between Australia and the USA )

possibly we are at a point were we have to try to find other ways to 
promote openness, than to be annoyed that it is closing down more and more 
.. and to engage in wars with those channels, which have not changed in the 
last six years and will not change in the next few ..

it's her decision if she makes a difference between Syndicate and other 
lists or not
I would like it more, if she would engage .. it's her needing channels for 
her art
and there are very many ways to build some if there are enough people engaging

if she feels like crossposting, I guess, she has to stand questions from 
time to time ... well .. is this a problem ?
