July 2002  UPDATE:


Dear all,

Thanks to those members who have sent in such great contributions and
communications since the June update letter and to those who contributed
to the success of the ICOLS Sydney launch event.

These monthly updates will from now on be emailed to a larger audience,
many of whom have shown interest in ICOLS to date. Many thanks to those
of you who have sent in fan mail and letters of support.
If you would like to be removed from the list, or are receiving more
than one copy, please let us know.

born 1964 - - astronaut training Star City, Moscow 1976  to 1981,
recruited by STASI as a special operative, East Germany 1981 - 1988 -
disappeared late 1988 -- present status unknown - believed to be
operating from UK.

Hans Hamid Rasmussen,  Thomas Saenger  &  Theodor Barth (NORWAY) -
artist, artist and researcher
Hans Hamid Rasmussen: born in Algers of Norwegian mother and Algerian
father - parents radical left freedom fighters. Theodor Barth: born in
Norwegian urban bourgeoisie - lived most of childhood abroad (parents
diplomats); Thomas Saenger: born in Fredrikstad by Norwegian parents
(grandparents German and Italian), parents are both artists. Hans Hamid
and Thomas went to the Academy of Fine Arts together. Exhibits,
performances and events in Norway and abroad (Europe). Hans Hamid:
macro-installations and micro-embroidery. Thomas: mixed media middle
gates. Theo has done fieldworks in Lithuania, Croatia and Bosnia -
otherwise, projects together with Hans Hamid and Thomas grounded in an
ongoing sui generis séance. Recent spin-off projects: "Baphomet" in
Metronome 7 The Bastard (ed. Clémentine Déliss); permanent installation
Da’at outside the City Hall of Fredrikstad, ‘Atopic Church’ in the
exhibit Refuge at the Henie Onstad Art Centre (cur. Gavin Jantjes).

New members:
Helen Grace (AUS) - Loss Assessor & Keeper of the Stockpile of Human
Devaluation
Helen Grace has been working for a number of years in Lost Structures
and Ruined Ideas. She recently joined a New Team engaged  in policy
development for Future Projections in the development of a National
Innovation Policy to utilize abandoned concepts, poorly thought out
policy statements, unread policy documents and discarded Great Ideas in
a major new Centre for Materials Transfer and Relocation, to be built on
a wasteland in the greater Sydney area, alongside a proposed new Arts &
Cultural Precinct. Her work in Loss Assessment has won her major
commissions and she has successfully tendered for a multi-million dollar
Systems Analysis Contract developing numerological and nominalist
probability data for High Risk Investment in Equine Applications & other
Gaming Scenarios.
