IT suddenly becomes clear...

hmmm...look over here, wondering what artists are and artists do...except find this quote in local university paper instead:

"Your soul and spirituality is something they can't take away and art is an effective way to share this"

i wonder about this story:

a man spends 20+ years writing computer software and pulls in the money because he is good at it. Sept 11 happens and he gets layed off. His nitrous oxide hobby blooms into a full blown habit. He spends time in the mental ward detoxing after a week of being high on nitrous. He is told not to stop his lithium. He suddenly sees that the scientific rational mind is a cage. He sees that artists are outside the cage. He is given popsicle sticks and crayons to do art therapy. He sees the absurdity of this given what he now knows. He decides he wants to be an artist for some vague reason. He finds syndicate and other places where he begins to learn about net art. He has no visual arts skills but he realizes that his programming skills can be used more creatively to share, not just to write the perfectly elegant function.
