7080: Worldchat: The Future of Money

Friday 22 June, 21:00-01:00

Platform 21

Prinses Irenestraat 19, Amsterdam

Entry: Free

In 'The Future of Money', money is central. It is not only a means of exchange but a primary necessity of human existence. Bling-bling rules. Some people kill for money, while others give fortunes away. Money is that diffuse, that important, that artificial, that vulgar. Can we imagine a world without money? Is it time for a new, alternative system?

In 'The Future of Money', we go in search of the big bucks. We ask ourselves whether money isn't too central to the desires of the 70|80 generation. We want to know how to cash in, and how to take over a company. What does money mean for writers, poets and thinkers? And imagine if there was no money at all...

At 'The Future of Money', De Balie and Platform 21 meet Zuidas. Poets meet traders; philosophers meet economists.
And in Worldchat, Amsterdam meets the world.
This live chat event will simultaneously take place at Platform 21 and at locations in Poland (Wyspa) and Canada (Mercury Lounge). We'll discuss interest, power, alternative money systems, shares, dividends and debt with experts and creatives, live and online. We'll Skype with international guests and chat online. Come listen and participate in the world's biggest talk show.
Bring your laptop!
