      Anactoria went in to take leave of Byblis, Aloysius, and Amalie. Minutes, and she started on her return journey. On her way out, Anactoria met Aïssé, who was coming to see Byblis. The next day, Aloysius and Aïssé had gone. A year later, Byblis tried to recall, with Amalie's help, how long ago Anactoria had left, at what date and under what circumstances. Byblis and Amalie were still talking when the sun rose.
