MOBILE ACADEMY WARSAW

COURSES for photography, acting, directing, dance, choreography, conceptual art
and art theory will be on offer.
Each course works with international artists and consists of small projects,
studies, research proposals and presentations that are
complemented by theory classes and field trips into the post communistic
condition. A commented film program and a moving
truck performance are accompanying the Mobile Academy.

The WARSAW EXPERT BLACKMARKET II will take place on each Saturday and give the
participants the chance to meet artists, scientist and theoreticians from
Warsaw. 100 polish experts will talk in intimate groups on invisible, unknown
and ghostly knowledge. (see also: Blackmarket for Useful Knowledge and

TOPIC: GHOSTS, SPECTRES, PHANTOMS AND THE PLACES WHERE THEY LIVE
All of the invisible ones - spirits, the undead, 
phantoms, vampires, avatars and
ghosts - can only be understood in the social context that produced them,
usually one of exclusion, suppression, expulsion. Mobile Academy explores the
ghostly in social life, architecture, in politics, in contemporary art and art
theory.

PARTICIPATION: Mobile Academy Warsaw 2006 is aimed at advanced students and
young artists with project experience. The teaching language of the Academy is
English. The program will be published in April. Application deadline is 15th
of June.

Mobile Academy Warsaw is a project by Hannah 
Hurtzig and Carolin Hochleichter in
cooperation with TR Warszawa. The project takes place in the framework of 'Büro
Kopernikus. German-Polish Cultural Projects', an initiative of Kulturstiftung
des Bundes (German Federal Cultural Foundation) Honorary President: Prof. Dr.
Maria Janion.
