Depot Dortmund Germany 2006


International invitation to tender for an arts project on the subject 
"SLEEP" including an exhibition in the Depot in Dortmund, Germany.

Submission of the concepts: From October 1st - December 31st 2005
Announcement of the jury's decision: March 2006
Realization of the project in the Depot: May 14th - 25th 2006
The first part of the exhibition
(open to the public): From May 26th (Vernissage) - June 7th 2006
The second part of the exhibition
(private letting): From June 8th - on July 9th 2006 (Finissage)

Conditions of Participation:

Age-restriction: Visual artists who are older than 35 years of age can apply.
The competition is worldwide and open participants from all countries.

The participating artists give their consent that the realized works 
of art are temporary and that they will be auctioned off at the end 
of the exhibition in order to refinance the arts project dormART.

Submitted application documents will not be returned.

The Jury:
The dormART jury is made up of:

- Peter Friese, curator "Neues Museum Weserburg", Bremen, Germany
- Jan Hoet, artistic director of MARTa, Herford;
Artistic director of Documenta IX, Kassel, Germany
- Dr. Christina Vielhaber, art critic, free lance journalist, Cologne, Germany

Expenses / Fees

The organizer will cover the travelling expenses as well as the 
accommodation and catering costs in Dortmund during the "development 
phase" from May 14th - May 27th 2006. Material expenses are covered 
up to 1000 Euros. The artist will be paid a fee of 1000 Euros and 
will receive 10 copies of the published German-English exhibition 
catalogue.
Further expenses, as for example for a health insurance abroad, have 
to be covered by the artist himself. The insurance costs for the 
artistic works from the moment of their realization by the artist in 
the Depot up to the end of the exhibition will be covered by the
