Goto Shigeo ("Tokyo Gathering") Vol. 015

February 21
For me the year began with photography, as I've set up a photo
gallery inside the Tokyo National Museum's "Heiseikan" building
during the "National Treasures of Toshodaiji Temple" exhibition.
In a guerilla fashion I'm showing there works by 15 female
photographers on the theme "flowers for Ganjinwajo". Items on
display until March 6 include new works by Nagashima Yurie, as
well as photos by Ishiuchi Miyako, who represents Japan at this
year's Venice Biennale, and others. See my website for more
details (in Japanese).

(2) Event Pick of the Week
===============================================================

Kawaguchi Takao x Optrum: Di que no veS

Somehow Kawaguchi Takao's dance always seems to make people laugh.
In his performance at a previous "RT Bar" event he was wearing
what looked like an oversized bloomer, and also his show at Super
Deluxe, where he danced all nude and spread completely with oil
was in a way funny rather than sensual. In past events this
humorous element was underscored by Fujimoto Takayuki's LED-based
lighting and Yamakawa Fuyuki's music, and this time's performance
is coming along with the support of Ito Atsuhiro and Shin
Yoshihiro, who contribute a "sonic device with optical output/
optical device with sonic output" and a "drum-only band approaching
hardcore with variable speed" respectively. I don't have the
foggiest clue what these are, but it sounds terrific doesn't it!
