Today the Scala reopened in Milano. The season opening premier 
traditionally falls on Ambrosie's day. This year Scala choose to present 
Mozart's Idomenus, king of Troy, which is  a good choice after all: the 
opera ends with the common peace song of the poeple of Troy and 
Crete. Fort the first time after 19 years the conductor was not Ricardo 
Muti, but a young English man, Daniel Harding. The prices for the 
premier was between 550 and 2200 euros. During the theater show 
people could follow the  performance on huge digital screens on the 
streets - for free. 
Following another custom , people parallely demonstrated in front of 
the Opera house. Traditonally people demonstrate in Milan  on the 
days of an opera premier. This time people demonstrated for the rights 
of the animals, while the confectioners, the workers of the car factory, 
the students and the workers of the Opera House protested against 
the cuts of the budget.

of course  things did not stop to happen during the renovation of the 
opera house, as we all know on the syndicate list.
