Hi All,

Last night at the Dissension Convention saw two cracking, energetic
collaborative mixes. These ran alongside the march of 250,000+
protesters against Bush and the Republicans on the streets of New York.

It was amazing to see 2 such distinctly different approaches. The first
performance by Patrick, Maya & Marc took a psychological approach; it
was dark, rich and gutsy with great sounds. Moport.org & Glowlab were
right in the thick of things in New York, receiving moment by
moment,worrying updates of violent arrests. They jammed with images of
the street protests and texts from the multitude sent in through the
Moport facility. This was totally different style and content;
grass-roots, journalistic, observant and serious. Mez contributed to the
New Yorker's mix with her inimitable, apposite, code poetry chat.

Tonight promises to be a corker too with VS virtuoso, Chris Web & street
poet Concrete Myrth (standing in for Sim) and 3 fine net art poets,
Lewis Lacook, Alan Sondheim and Sheila Murphy.

Not to be missed!

see you there,
