(1) Out Of Tokyo
===============================================================

Vol. 086: Pecha-Kucha Night
by Ozaki Tetsuya

On 4/28 I visited once again Super Deluxe, one of Tokyo's hottest
event spaces at the moment, this time to participate in volume 13
of the "Pecha-Kucha Night" series. The concept of this
"presentation event" is to give each of ten-odd participants 400
seconds time to show either a video film or 20 slides, and accompany
these with comments that can range from "small-talk about a recent
picnic to business advertisement." Among the persons that have
appeared at the previous 12 installments are RT contributor Maeda
Keizo from Conversation, "Composite" magazine editor Sugatsuke
Masanobu, and others.

(2) Event Pick of the Week
===============================================================

Image Forum Festival 2004

A festival packed with cutting-edge films that are worth seeing
without exception. After teh kick-off at Tate Modern, the show
has traveled Berlin, Paris, New York(Jonas Mekas' Anthology Film
Archives) and other places, presenting a UK experimental film
special, as well as Estonian animated films and experimental movies
from Korea, China and Taiwan. The Japanese edition features among
others an animation work realized in collaboration between top
designer Tanaami Keiichi and Aihara Nobuhiro, a new work of "The
Art of Fugue" creator Ishida Takashi, and a video installation by
artist Shimabuku. Don't miss the extremely rare chance to see a
program as extensive as this!
