What is most shocking here is not that the Ottoman-era Muslim 
tombstones were destroyed by demolition mallets in Belgrade - because 
that would be a logical next after the burning of Barjakti mosque - 
it is that this time the destruction was not done by random 
hooligans, but instead that it was done by military personnel 
including the colonel Dragan Nikolic, who was in charge of protecting 
those monuments, as the Military Museum custodian. This distasteful 
incident invokes memories of Taliban blowing up Bamian Buddha 
statues...
