Dear EmailNation Subscriber,

Many Americans are holding a day of remembrance to mark the second
anniversary of the September 11 terrorist attacks. Emotions were
heightened on the eve of the anniversary by the broadcasting of a new
videotape appearing to show Osama Bin Laden alive and praising those who
carried out the attacks.

Meanwhile President Bush and John Ashcroft are touring the country
assuring Americans that they are making every effort to protect our
safety. But, as David Corn points out in a recent Nation magazine report,
they're not telling the truth.

In fact, crucial areas of homeland security--ports, chemical plants,
emergency response, biodefense--are not getting adequate attention or
funding. Two years after the nation's vulnerability was exposed, at the
price of more than 3,000 lives, every effort is demonstrably NOT being
made.
