The Perfect Music Event Reborn in Kawasaki:
Organic Groove -- Don't Try This At Home

When I was asked to write this text on Organic Groove for REALTOKYO,
I chickened out first. Let's face it (and there's no reason to hide
it anyway, ha!) -- although I'm in Berlin now I've always been a
big fan of Organic Groove. But if you've ever been asked to put into
words your admiration of something, you'll understand why I was
hesitating. The quality of Organic Groove in particular is something
that has to be experienced, and that's difficult if not impossible
to convey through words.

(2) Event Pick of the Week
=============================================================

Tokyo FILMeX 2003

As Tokyo's alternative film festival, Tokyo FILMeX is established
and much better received than that other big one. It's a true
filmmakers' event, and this year again it comes with a great
line-up of cutting-edge films. Especially recommended is "Save
the Green Planet!" by Jang Jun-hwan. It's a black comedy of
grandeur and illusion that contains plenty of biting irony, with
Shin Ha-kyun sending shivers down the viewer's spine in the
brilliantly played leading part. Not to be missed are also the
two specials featuring super-rare movies, titled "The 100th
anniversary of Shimizu Hiroshi's birth" and "Iranian Cinema
Before the Islamic Revolution!"
