1. netzspannung.org präsentiert Live-Streamings der
Vorlesungsreihe "Iconic Turn - das neue Bild der Welt"

Die bereits zum dritten Mal stattfindende Vorlesungsreihe "Iconic Turn",
die von der Burda Akademie zum Dritten Jahrtausend in München
veranstaltet wird, wird auch im kommenden SS 2003 von der
Internetplattform netzspannung.org live gestreamt und anschließend
archiviert.
Auch in diesem Semester werden namhafte Wissenschaftler über die
gewachsene Bedeutung des Bildes auf Kultur, Gesellschaft und
Wissenschaft referieren. Aus interdisziplinären Perspektiven werden
unterschiedlichste Bildphänomene und Bildbegriffe diskutiert, die mit
der Verbreitung der Massenmedien - unterstützt durch die
Computertechnologie - immer größeren gesellschaftlichen Einfluss

2. Ausstellung der Info-Jukebox am MediaLabMadrid
----------------------------------------------------
Die am MARS-Exploratory Media Lab entwickelte Info-Jukebox wird vom 20.
Mai bis 8. Juni am MediaLabMadrid, Centro Cultural del Conde Duque (c/
Conde Duque 9-11), Madrid, ausgestellt.
Die Info-Jukebox zeigt eine Auswahl von Videoclips zu einzelnen MARS
Projekten, die interaktiv durch Körpergestik ausgewählt werden können.
Im Rahmen der Ausstellungseröffnung werden Monika Fleischmann und
Wolfgang Strauss, die Leiter des MARS-Exploratory Media Lab am
Fraunhofer Institut für Medienkommunikation, einen Vortrag halten.
Die Ausstellung am MediaLabMadrid findet in Kooperation mit dem Goethe
Institut in Madrid statt.

"Iconic Turn" lecture series

The lecture series "Iconic Turn", organised by the Burda Academy for the
Third Millennium, takes place for the third time during the summer term
2003. Just as the previous two lecture-series, netzspannung.org will
stream and archive the lecture-series in 2003.
In the summer term 2003 renowned artists and scientists will talk about
the growing influence of images on culture, society and science:
photography, mass media and computer technology have eminently increased
the impact of images on culture, society and science. Different image
concepts and phenomena will be discussed from an interdisciplinary point

2. Exhibition of the Info-Jukebox at MediaLabMadrid
----------------------------------------------------
The Info-Jukebox, developed at the MARS-Exploratory Media Lab, will be
presented at the MediaLabMadrid, Centro Cultural del Conde Duque (c/
Conde Duque 9-11), Madrid, from May 20th until June 8th.
The Info-Jukebox presents a selection of video-clips about different
MARS projects. The clips can be selected interactively by body gestures.
During the opening of the exhibition, Monika Fleischmann and Wolfgang
Strauss, the directors of the MARS-Exploratory Media Lab at the
Fraunhofer-Institute for Medienkommunikation, will give a lecture on the
site.
The exhibition of the MediaLabMadrid takes place in cooperation with the
Goethe Institute, Madrid.

Call for Entries
