Einladung zum Tag der Offenen Tür am Samstag, dem 10. Mai 2003
am Fraunhofer-Institutszentrum in Sankt Augustin (bei Bonn)

Digitales Beethoven-Haus, mobile Roboter, ein Navigationssystem
für Knieoperationen und eine Simulation des Weltklimas ­ das
Fraunhofer-Institutszentrum Schloss Birlinghoven präsentiert
sich zum Tag der Offenen Tür am Samstag, dem 10. Mai, von 11 Uhr
bis 17 Uhr mit aktuellen Forschungsarbeiten.

Die Fraunhofer-Institute und Forschungseinrichtungen laden
zu einem Blick hinter die Kulissen der Forschung ein. In den
Forschungslabors und Institutsräumen erwarten die Besucherinnen
und Besucher zahlreiche Präsentationen, die Informationstechnik-
Spitzenforschung verständlich vermitteln.

Eine besondere Attraktion ist das Programm auf der großen
Showbühne neben Schloss Birlinghoven. Wolfgang Back,
bekannt durch die WDR-Kultsendung Computerclub, moderiert eine
bunte Mischung aus Expertengesprächen, Spielbeiträgen und Musik.

Um 16 Uhr stellen Monika Fleischmann und Wolfgang Straus dort
unter dem Titel "Medienkunst als Innovationsforschung" die Arbeit
des MARS Exploratory Media Lab vor. Im Mixed Reality Lab
präsentiert die Forschungsgruppe folgende interaktive Installationen:
die Info-Jukebox, die Influencing Machine und Liquid Views.

Invitation to an Open Day at the Fraunhofer Institute Center
Schloss Birlinghoven in Sankt Augustin (near Bonn) on
Saturday, 10th May from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
============================================================

The research institutes on the campus show a broad variety of
their research on the hot topics in information technology.

The show on stage is presented by the well known german computer
journalist Wolfgang Back.

At 4 p.m. Monika Fleischmann and Wolfgang Strauss will give
a presentation of their work. At the MARS Mixed Reality Lab
the research group exhibits the following interactive
installations: the Info-Jukebox, the Infuencing Machine and
Liquid Views.
