(1882-1944)

The brittleness of peace.

The celebration of the life.

A mythological play
The play is inspired by Iliade d' Homère. Giraudoux adapted the situations
and the characters of the
ancient legend.

A today play
Through the Antiquity, the play reflects distressing it gone up dangers in
Europe of 1935, and all
the situations of threatening, poked or alleviated conflicts.

A tragedy and a comedy
The part is a tragedy by its subject, the war, by the place of the destiny
and the impotence of the
men. It is a comedy by the lightness and the drolery of certain dialogues
and the wild satire of
warmongering.
