if you log in the syndicate archives webpage 
http://anart.no/sympa/arc/syndicate
with your email address and password
[password reminder is also available]
you can set your subscription to no mail option.
or you can unsubsribe via webpage 
http://www.anart.no/~syndicate/
or by writing to sympa at anart.no
subject: unsubscribe syndicate.

it's difficult, but not impossible to do so.
login is a blue button in the left corner,
unsubscription is a red link on a yellow page.
