26th March until 2th April 2003.

The successfully established Festival of Central and Eastern European 
Film - goEast, organized by the Deutsches Filminstitut - DIF (German 
Film Institute), is optimistically looking forward to its third year. 
Once more, from 26th March to 2nd April 2003, Wiesbaden will be the 
focus for audiences interested in film and culture from our 
neighbours in the East.

Not only to show new films, but to mirror them in historical series 
and in a scholarly symposium, this proven concept of goEast 
guarantees a sound dialogue and a lasting cultural exchange. Films, 
like no other media, allow the diving into other worlds and cultures 
and are therefore especially suitable for making the political, 
social and psychological situations in the Central and Eastern 
European countries accessible to a German audience. And as a festival 
goEast does not only offer the sensuous experience of our European 
similarities and differences in the cinema but also enables - through 
talks and discussions - the direct contact between our visitors and 
guests from the East and from the West.
