i have been humbled...

...by an 80 yr old retired english teacher. she straightened me out on this "art bullshit" when i suggested that i was going to concentrate on my writing. she claims that is just so much more mental masturbation and that i needed to stop speaking and get underneath the words, to the thought before the word. of course, she is right.
