Art & Science Collaborations, Inc. (ASCI)
                        are pleased to present:

                             "Dark Science"

[ASCI Members only or click here for Membership information]
                      curated by Koan-Jeff Baysa.

                           www.gallerythe.org
343 Smith Street @ Carroll Street
                           Brooklyn, NY 11231

The pursuit of science is often equated with the
search for truth, but what of research that instead
of elucidating shining truths, reveals dark
          knowledge? Entitled "Dark Science," this
ASCI-sponsored event looks at what I term the
          "Frankenstein Factor," reflecting the consequences
of serendipitous events, mistakes and inaccuracies
          encountered along the pathways towards
enlightenment. Such controversial issues are found
within a wide range of subjects, from teratology to
the production of featherless chickens, edible
tissue cultures, mutations, morphing, and stem cell
research. The treatment of the subject matter should
not exclude cyberspace realities, and well, (dark)
          humours.

(An example would be ASCI member Brandon Ballangee¹s
³Malformed Amphibian Series,² based on an
          international biological study of mutated,
malformed, and disappearing frogs and salamanders.)
