Vol. 076: Ukawa Naohiro Installation
by Ozaki Tetsuya

After hearing rumours of Ukawa's present installation, I payed a
visit to the LAD Musician shop that's tucked away somewhere in
the jungle of Harajuku. The building is a quite old one, but it
is so perfectly "R"-ed that I only noticed at second sight.
While the space on the first floor is pretty cool, the second
one awaits the visitor with a typical Japanese-style-six-max room
that tells of bygone days. That's where Ukawa had his fling.

(2) Event Pick of the Week

Kitamura Akiko Solo: Scramble Suite

Kitamura Akiko can be considered the most "handsome" female
dancer/choreographer Japan has to offer at the moment. Acclaim
she has gathered especially for her solid stage shows and unique
arrangements, and Kitamura herself has always been an exceptionally
smart dancer. With unthinkable speed her delicate limbs chop about
the air and freeze the whole stage, from the back of which a scent
of bright and rosy sexuality exudes. Such magic you can now witness
in the dancer's first solo performance in a long time. Kitamura's
dance is complemented by the sounds and visuals of long-time
collaborators, Awazu Yusuke and Kaneko Akihiko respectively, who
help make this an outstanding show of performing arts you wouldn't
want to miss.
