Jodi Rose is a nomadic writer and sound artist. Originally from Sydney,
Australia she is now travelling the world recording the sound of bridges
in search of their secret voices and language. This project is part of
her research for a Masters in Media Art at Melbourne University, School
of Creative Arts. Bridges recorded include the Anzac Bridge, Sydney; My
Thuan Bridge, Vietnam; Erasmus Bridge, Rotterdam; Maatinkaari Bridge,
Helsinki and F60 Bridge, Lausitz Germany.

'I love bridges, the way they arch out across an emptiness to connect
with the other side. They occupy a space in-between, the threshold
between worlds, countries and states of mind. Looking fragile and
tenuous, resembling a spider-web spun across the void and creating a
path where there was previously only air, the bridge hangs suspended
improbably by threads'.
