  hi Ivo. this has been happening to people for over the last
  year or so, it seems from my observation. it may be related
  to the 'bugbear' virus, or that is when i first noticed that e-mails,
  snippets of e-mails, or false e-mails would be sent under another
  related but non-working address, often people connected with
  the netttime, syndicate, and other lists. my policy has been to
  write people whose e-mail addresses are appearing, because
  if it is a virus, it may be on the person's computer. just a guess.
