i wonder whether this hoax was spread after 11.09.01 and whether it is connected

it's amazing the speed and scale new global net.folklore - 
Hungarian netizens had scream with laughter seeing the adventures of 
Danger Boy Waldo. The Last Tourist picture was initially sent to eight people,
and is spread on the net wihin days - i got the first picture i think at 15th September -
net users quickly turned the Tourist Guy into the Forrest Gump of the Internet, 
placing him at the scene of major, minor and just plain inane events in history.
