AWARD WINNERS, AUDIENCE FAVOURITES AND RARE FINDS:
The Short Film Festival presents its new distribution program

Hot off the press, the 2002 distribution catalogue of the International
Short Film Festival Oberhausen features 60 new short productions in all
conceivable genres. Among the recent acquisitions are "Dream Work" by Peter
Tscherkassky, which won the Grand Prize of the City of Oberhausen,
Christoph Girardet's "Scratch", selected as best entry in the German
Competition, and two rediscovered works by Yugoslavian director Karpo
Godina. The printed catalog can now be ordered from the Short Film
Festival. Alternatively, the distribution programme can also be called up
online on the Short Film Festival's website
(http://www.kurzfilmtage.de/ikf/pages/sfe/index.php?id=105&lang_id=2),
where film extracts of the program will soon be online.

In this year's distribution programme, rare finds such as Zhao Liang's
Chinese video clip "Jerks Don't Say Fuck" or Karpo Godina's early works
take their place alongside audience favourites like Karl Golden's "Beached"
and other highlights from the 2002 Short Film Festival competitions. All of
the 2002 MuVi Award candidates can also be found in the catalog, compiled
into the fourth MuVi reel, now available for distribution.

The Short Film Festival's distribution division works internationally on a
non-commercial basis. Repertory theatres, "Kommunale Kinos", museums,
festivals, cultural centres and other institutions take advantage of the
opportunity to screen short films and film programmes from Oberhausen. In
2002/2001 films distributed by the Short Film Festival reached audiences in
Moscow, Jakarta, North Africa, Australia and, of course, viewers throughout
Germany.
