I N V I T A T IO N - URBAN FESTIVAL 2003

Urban Festival is a multimedia project of performance, action, happening,
dance, sound and visual installation, workshops and web projects with basic
tendency to infiltrate art into urban life and intensify communication
between inhabitants with their city and its infrastructure.

Urban Festival is divided into three parts: ad hoc 1 (3 - 9 July), ad hoc 2
(3 - 9 October) and ad hoc 3 (17 - 23 December). It is focused on the
following:

A city is a space of coexistence and co-functioning of the unperceivable
multitude of ad hoc collectives and the perceivable mob of
institutionalised collectives.

Ad hoc collectives are (self)generating instant communities and one of
their important characteristics is instability / current stability.

We are interested in works dealing with:
-  the specific ad hoc collective, its generating, appearing or
disappearing and/or

-  "sliding" between different ad hoc collectives / their correlation
Ad hoc collectives are processes that can occur anytime, anywhere. Among
others, they can be detected in listed places that form a contextual frame
for art projects and are potential performance locations.

Education -  primary / elementary / high school, university, library,
cultural centre ...
Entertainment, culture, sport - club, disco, café, recreation centre,
playground, cinema, theatre ...

Ad hoc 3 # 17 - 23 December 2003
Shopping - market, shop, supermarket, second hand market, shopping centre ...
Care - hospital, old people’s home, homeless asylum, orphanage, prison,
public kitchen ...

for the projects already realised : 10  September 2002
-  for the projects in progress and new projects: 1 November 2002
You will be notified about the results by 1 February 2003.
