1.With the theme of “Temp?ral Being”, this year marks the 6th successful
year of the Microwave International Media Arts Festival. The event features
artist-in-residence workshops hosted by Austrian artist collective “Time’s
Up”, screenings of international and local videos, seminars, forums, musical
performances and exhibitions. Slovenian net art pioneer Vuk Cosic is invited
to curate an innovative net art exhibition in Videotage studio.

2. Cattle Depot Artist Village is opened for public on 8-10th November 2002.
Organised by Cattle Depot “villagers”, the event includes exhibitions,
screenings, open forum, opera performance and a flea market place. Check out
the interactive works created by Videotage members, Guy Cheung, Frankie
Lung, Terry Lai, Tina Shum and Adrian Yeung. Opens at 6pm-11pm on 8th Nov;

3. Yau Ching’s a latest feature Ho Yuk –– Let’s Love Hong Kong will be shown
at Hong Kong Arts Centre’s Indies Channel on 22nd and 23rd November.
Accompanying the film is a selection of Yau’s early experimental shorts,
plus a seminar on the 23rd November.

4. Also in Hong Kong Arts Centre, there are screenings organised by Indie
film distributor Ying E Chi. The Final Night of the Royal Hong Kong Police
(Part 1& 2) looks at the legacy of Hong Kong’s former colonial government
through the eyes of several policeman while Conjugation is set in 1989,
Bejing and revolves around a group of young people trying to cope with life
in the aftermath of the June 4th incident.

5. Founded by Lam Hiu Tung and Tse Yin Mo, [via] is a privately owned art
place dedicated to the promotion of art and cultural activities in Hong
Kong. Apart from self-curated theme exhibitions, [via] is also opened for
hire to art enthusiasts and artists for exhibitions and gatherings. Located
at Marble Road, Basement Shop 44, China United Centre, North Point.

6. Organised by the Hong Kong Arts Centre, Professional Certificate in Art
Management is a professional course designed for local practicing art
managers. It offers training on practices and theories of arts management.
Taught by a team of senior arts managers in Hong Kong. Deadline for
application: 18th November, 2002.

7. The annual MAAP new media arts festival was held in Beijing for the first
time. Videotage was one of the supporting art organisations. Based in
Brisbane, Australia, the festival aims to promote new media arts in the Asia
Pacific regions. It has obviously done a good job.

9. Spark Video Art organise monthly video art series at Spark Contemporary
Art Space in Syracuse, New York. Each monthly event consists of one SPARK
VIDEO INTERNATIONAL programme and one programme of community based video
known as SPARK HOME VIDEO. They are currently accepting video submission for
the coming programme year and the deadline is 1st April, 2003.
