Well, our interpretation of signs around us has more to do with our own
needs and preoccupations than it has to do with the content of the message
itself.
I was just reading a poem by Celan (we mentioned it in my French class today
:-) when I got the message about the rose. See how Celan interpreted life.
It's nihilism, but beautiful...
Niemandsrose
Niemand knetet uns wieder aus Erde und Lehm,
niemand bespricht unsern Staub.
Niemand.
Gelobt seist du, Niemand.
Dir zulieb wollen
wir blühn.
Dir
entgegen.
Ein Nichts
waren wir, sind wir, werden
wir bleiben, blühend:
die Nichts-, die
Niemandsrose.
Mit

Personne.
Loué sois-tu, Personne.
Pour l'amour de toi nous voulons
fleurir
Contre
toi. "
Niemandsrose as a title does sound a bit like Netochka Nezvanova
linguistically,
n'est-ce pas? The Director of Leaves + Petals (+ Thorns). I am new to all
this and a
bit obssessed by her, so I guess I'm overcoding, but the truth is that she
does have this super-human dimension...
