Under current red-green leadership, Germany opposes US war
against Iraq. But they are under pressure of their opposition and
present American government to re-consider their "anti-American"
position. They need support in form of letters of ordinary American
citizens that would show that not all Americans support Bush's war.

Subject: LETTERS TO GERMAN LEADERS REQUESTED

> Friends:
>
> I've just returned from speaking at a peace conference in Germany and our
friends there are requesting that peace groups in the U.S. send letters as
soon as possible to President Gerhard Schroeder and Green Party Foreign
Minister Josef Fischer.
>
The letters should thank them for their recent public statements of concern
about a U.S. war in Iraq and most importantly, urge them to remain in
opposition to German participation in a war. They are currently under
enormous pressure from the U.S. and the German right-wing to support the
war.
>
> The U.S. is trying to say that the German's are being "anti-American" by
refusing to endorse the war. The German leaders need to hear from people,
especially U.S. peace groups, that their opposition is in fact in solidarity
with millions of people across the U.S.
>
> The e-mail and/or regular mailing address for these two German leaders are
