Journalists wanted!

Mediterranean Meeting Points' latest initiative: MMP Media
The European Cultural Foundation is offering an opportunity for media professionals to challenge the mainstream
coverage of cross-Mediterranean issues and demonstrate the immense potential of culture to address misconceptions and
stereotypes.

Journalists from Europe, North Africa and the Middle East are invited to send us proposals for projects involving travel to
the other side of the Mediterranean to cover a cultural event or issue. This is an opportunity to enrich and broaden cross-
Mediterranean dialogue by reporting on culture as a catalyst for deeper, mutual understanding.

Please contact Vanessa Reed vreed at eurocult.org to obtain further information on this new project.

Mobility news

The ECF awards travel grants to enable professionals in the cultural sector to travel within Europe with the aim of meeting
and working with colleagues in complimentary institutions. Opinion multipliers, such as journalists or translators, artists,
cultural managers and policy makers are eligible for support. The next deadline for projects taking place between October
and December 2002 is 30 August. You can read more about criteria and application procedures in the grants section of
our site. The Arts & Culture Network Programme of our partner OSI-Budapest launched a new programme of placements
in acknowledged cultural institutions of Central and Eastern Europe, Central Asia, the Caucasus and Mongolia for art
managers and cultural administrators from the region, called 'Looking Inside'. The main goal of the Looking Inside
programme is to increase the mobility of cultural practitioners who want to implement innovative models of operation in
their organization by exploring other cultural practices. For more information please visit www.batory.org.pl/art/inside.
