Let the History Talk

Instead of the usual cocktail party, the Festival will be closed
with the installation which basic material is food. 'Let the History
Talk' is the fourth in the sequence of 12 performances named
'The Last Meals'. All of them are 'prepared' by the order of the
organiser and intended for a certain occasion, no matter whether
it is a festival, a wedding or an anniversary of a political party.

What are the attempts of the performance?
a) to close the Festival officially
b) to mix the political speech used in times of different political systems in Croatia
c) to offer the refreshment to the audience
d) to please the organisers
e) to convince the public of the necessity of the Festival
f) to thank Dr. Hans Christian Zabludovsky for all the help he generously
offers to young artists

Context Party

A big dance party in the open where music is played on
headphones - those who enter the space of The Context Party
make a decision: to take the headphones and, listening to the music,
become a part of the dancing crowd or to refuse them. Making a
second choice the visitor can only hear T(the secondary noiset)
of people dancing and so feel the state of being out of the context.
Popular techno party phenomenon is suitable for such an experiment
- observing without complete engagement.

The 'Shadow Casters' project is a complex system of city travelling
- a sort of an Internet-guide that turns into a real, individually adjusted
event in the form of a city tour. Within this
travelling-performance-event-installation, which structure is open,
a participant-traveller is invited to experience his or her physical
and mental abilities of understanding and creating new situations
within real and hyper-real environments. Individual journey starts at
different city or web points (each participant receives a password
instead of a travelling ticket) and is limited to 3-15 hours that can be
arranged within one or several days. Discovering, step by step, the
keys of new possibilities of travelling the participant-traveller writes
down untold Zagreb stories like a detective.

The Perfume of Absence

'This project, The Perfume of Absence, is based on a process of
construction, documentation, destruction and reconstruction of
fragments in different scenarios. During months of traveling, teaching
and working with artists from different cultures, I was carrying with me
pieces of what once was an installation in a gallery space. I portrayed
these fragments in new landscapes that were surrounding me in the journey,
as an attempt to document my experience in these scenes as a witness and
as a performer.'

City Talk

'City Talk' is a vocal solo walk, the performance that uses human
voice in different forms, while mostly avoiding meaningful speech.
During a two - hour walk through the city the performer gives his
voice to city objects that he himself chooses: statues, sculptures,
traffic signs, shop windows, mail boxes, fountains, etc. which are,
through this dialogue, given new dimensions.

V-Ritual Reality

'Learning from the experience of old Greeks we will take the
adventure of creating a web-mythology composed of dead objects,
simulacrums and institutions that fatally radiate self fascination and
malicious justification. Mentioned elements will be transcended into
global net (Internet), visualised and in that way conceptually
destroyed in reality. Those malign tissues will be cut out of the body
of the generally accepted meaning - we will leave nothing but the
web sites!'

Problemarket

'The word problem has always had a sort of negative connotation.
The general viewpoint is that nobody wants to have problems.
We believe that problems spice up life. When someone is confronted
with a problem, they have to draw together a surge of energy in
order to face it and solve it.
We therefore consider problems as the catalysts of energy. In this
sense, they have a value and therefore can be placed on the market.

Problemarket.com is a joint-stock company on which shares of
several different companies dealing with problems are floated.
It is responsible for organising and managing the international
Problem Stock Exchange, formally created at the beginning of
2000 and operational since November 16, 2001.
Problemarket.com organises and manages the international
Problem Stock Market with the participation of over 180 domestic
and international brokers who operate in Slovenia and from abroad
through remote membership using a fully electronic trading system
for real-time trading.
Problemarket.com is you. It is about you. And for you...'

business on other areas connected with social and urban activities,
in spite of the strong competition on the Russian market.

Protest against myself

A performance that appears in the form of a classical protest -
the act that is a familiar form of expressing dissatisfaction and
revolt in our everyday life, with the aim to achieve a change in
the system - individual relation. 'The Protest against Myself' is
an act of critical communication that develops self-irony and
self-criticism. It is also a commentary of the modern world in
which social revolutions became trivial and human beings
turned into ugly, fat, rich and unsatisfied creatures. Join us!

Duorama series
A series of new performances in Zagreb is a part of a continuous
'Duorama' Series, which explores understanding of emotional
relationships. Funny, occasionally minimalist, these pieces awake
tensions, which lie in the basis of any kind of human
companionship. At the same time these works can be seen in
the terms of social and political climate surrounding gay
culture. Strategy of the artistic work includes exhibiting
'live sculptures': hanging on the walls, pillars and entrances,
using exaggerated gestures and sounds, interacting with different
materials.

Generative Psychogeography
Image of the native city, which is considered well known,
is challenged in the series of experiments named
'Generative psychogeography.'
Inhabitants use their city strictly functionally passing
through it with a clear aim, always following the same route,
creating navigational habits that mould their
knowledge of the environment. Therefore, it is not strange
that treasures of city life can be found in unexpected places.
Generative psychogeography is a tool that helps us excavate
these urban marvels hidden just around the corner.
'Generative psychogeography' fills the streets with pedestrians
who take the time to contemplate what is happening around
them, always ready to interact with other people and actively
promoting healthy pedestrian culture.

Visual Chaos
'Visual Chaos' is a concise web project, which
explores the idea of chaos ruling the web space. It is composed
of numerous moving windows as well as windows placed in the
specific parts of the monitor. The site explores ideas, which
communicate with the abstract idea of the city. Internet is
a metaphor for many different ways of travelling a modern city.

Omnigenus
Following the credo 'Urtica medicamentum est'
('Nettle is a cure') the 'Omnigenus' project supports the right
to be different, re-questioning traditional social frame.
The necessity to suit the large number of people defined Omnigenus
as a mass - consuming product, which will therefore be presented
through mass media and public promotions in non-artistic spaces.
Using marketing media space, in fact, usurping commercial
physical space Urtica ironically comments modern society credo
'We have a cure for everything' criticising consumer society.

<intermezzo>
Basic idea of the project is 'catching' the
sounds of Novi Sad during the period of one year. Choosing
specific locations for sounds recording, absolutely tries
to present reality which is authentic, although difficult
to perceive. Absolutely tries not to intervene, but to record
the sound of 'now and here' in the defined point of time and
space - Novi Sad, Yugoslavia, 1998 and 1999.
This is a universal story about a city and its inhabitants,
including different segments of life, from a wedding to an air raid.

Milk 2002/03
Following the European Integration process comes
the neglecting of certain local values. The 'Milk 2002/03'
project will investigate whether the process of adjusting
economic standards can be modified in a way that certain older
levels of local ethnic identity are functionally protected
and maintained. Since one of the marginal consequences of
the adjusting will be the disappearance of a traditional trade
- the milkmaid, this project aims at researching, documentation,
archive and media presentation of the social position of the milkmaid.
Our aim is to start lobbying in order to force political
management to reconsider the cultural value of the phenomenon
and eventually place it under protection. Research results
and archive data presentation can be expected in autumn 2003.
This year come to take some cream and cheese.
