I remember that once (in North America) I had the lovely idea that I wanted to watch the 'original' of a children TV series I grew up with in Germany. 'Sesamstrasse' (sesamestreet). It was one desaster. For quite a while I wondered if my memory had cheaten me a lot. I liked that series as a child. Well, it was anyway the only one I was allowed to watch. 
Lately I had some short moment of 'enlightenment' (kind of). Found out that Farocki was working for the German version, when I grew up.
