 numer.02, second international conference on interactive design.

INTERACTIVE DESIGN__________ LOOK AHEAD

The conference will be held at the Centre Georges Pompidou,
Paris, France from the 19th to the 21st of April 2002.

__________________________________________

Following the success of numer.oo, first edition of these meetings,
the numer association and the Centre Georges Pompidou announce
the holding of numer.02.

We invite interactive designers and theoretists of interactive design
alike to submit their proposal for a contribution to the event.

In order to better understand the dynamics of interactive design at
hand,
we will attempt to picture its future as we see it.

What will the new tools be like, and what will be their scope of
application?
In what ways will the professional environment evolve?
What impact will this medium have on society at large?
And how will future interactive designers be taught and trained?
Such questions will certainly help to shed some light on the matter
and enable us to better comprehend what's happening at present.

These topics will be dealt with over a series of conferences
and open discussions.
An exhibition will be held at the same time.
An interactive performance will also be staged.

                     PROCEEDING

Each topic mentionned above will be the object of a day
of conferences which will take place on several sessions.
Three to four speakers per session will be selected.

Individual contributions during the conferences will not exceed
45 minutes - excluding questions. Speakers can resort
to computer projections for interactive presentations.
A debate among the speakers of the session
and the audience will follow.

All speeches will be simultaneously translated to English or French.

          TERMS OF PARTICIPATION

Speakers can propose contributions - in French
or in English - which offer a perspective on one or some
of the issues.

Proposals can be text and interactive media for the conferences
and the exhibition.

Texts should not exceed 2000 characters.
Interactive data submitted can take the following forms:
- urls ;
- compressed files (types : .dcr, .swf, .mov) of 2 MO. max. ;
- FTP urls from which files to download are 10 MO. max. ;
- cd-roms/dvd-roms.

Warning : please be aware that no document sent will be sent back.

Transportation to Paris and local accomodation of the participants
will be covered by the organisation.

DEADLINE FOR SUBMISSIONS : 9 NOV. 2001
NOTIFICATION OF ACCEPTANCE : 14 DEC. 2001
