yesterday

a child asked me about the world
not understanding

so easy it could be
she explained to me

a world of love she painted

for a momwent I felt like
perhaps I should explain
jealousies and competition

I could not
not destroy the laughing

and I painted with her a world of love

perhaps too creative for this world
anyway
she will either grow silent
or get hurt many times
early enough

then I will try
to find reasons
that might allay the pain
for her
