mor zm!lz. ta!faz - !ez pl!!!!!sz.

rilke: letz ta! faz.

what if i found again, among hundreds of things:
my heart, the overburdened heart, still alive, and
took it
again into my hands, finding it among
so many things, my heart:
and lifted it into the outer
world, into gray morning rain,
into the day which incessantly wanders
and reflects on the long roads;
or at dusk, into the night, that clear
act of mercy approaching ...

and held it up, as far as i am able,
into wind and stillness;
when i no longer can
would you take it then?

so many things lie open
by rash hands that arrived too late,
in search of you: they wanted to know.

and sometimes in an old book
an incomprehensible passage is underlined.
you were there once. what has become of you?

now close your eyes: so that now
we may enfold all this
inside our darkness, inside our peace
(as if it were ours).
among wishes, and sketches,
among unfinished things
that we'll finish someday,
somewhere inside us, deep down
this too exists now; it's like a letter
that we seal.

keep your eyes closed. it isn't there,
nothing is there, only night;
the night's room around a little light,
(you know it well).
but this is all inside you now, awake -
and bears along your soft closed face
like a stream ...

what a wonderful xy exclaimed 01 leaf.

rilke raised it before his eyes and
gently whispered - what a beautiful autumn leaf.

and then they lived happily ever after [u knou hou ztor!ez]

nn - like a stream ...
