Project Sun Rite - "Der Rausch"

"Der Rausch" - German word describing a situation in which the code of orientation cannot be deciphered. It is 
translated by "noise, sound, intoxication, ecstasy, drunkenness, etc.".

Der Rausch - never ending when measured nearby, flows infinitely into measurable distance.

Der Rausch - contains the presence of chaos, without identification of beginning and end.

Der Rausch - encounter in all directions without any interruption. It is distant nearness and near distance in one.

Der Rausch - is the desire before becoming defined in words - living its peak in ecstasy.

Der Rausch - attracts everything as does life and repels everything as does death.

Der Rausch - is the state of powerlessness and power in face of infinity and its never ending transformation.

Der Rausch - is the love to infinity in itself, love as hunger to unattainable nearness which can be felt.

Der Rausch - is the impossibility to recognise one's inside which is lived as utmost fascination.

Der Rausch - it may not be measured and nevertheless full of measure.

Der Rausch - its amplitude is present without time. 

Der Rausch - is soft, its extension results in a loud presence; it is condensed in a way it again becomes soft in an 
unknown manner.

Der Rausch - is always present where the impact of presence is lived, at the same time empty and full or full and empty.

Der Rausch - is the source of all rhythms.







"Der Rausch" is a pitch modulated mono-phone sine tone (5 times layered).

Polyphony results by overlapping a tone by several extended multiplications of this tone.

The principle of fluctuation is the basis for time measuring and therefore the basis for tone development.

Time perception is at the same time forward and backward as well as upward  and downward. Body rhythm articulates 
time perception.

Overlapping the fluctuations results in "NoTime" à intimacy of time space

Human body is a membrane stocking the sound experience, extending it in an emotional palette, thus experiencing a 
new dimension in time.

Time changes permanently from measurable (discrete, digital) to not measurable time (not discrete, analogue).

Here the framework is the principle of fluctuation as the physical principle of life.   


Work

Effect 1)	A self-modulated sine tone builds a time-lagged melody assigned to 5 loudspeakers in a pentagon rhythm. 
Through the sounds of the 5 levels, there are interferences perceptible in the space.

Effect 2)	The voice of a playing child (emotional markings) is the expression of lived human experiences. Emotion 
develops through self-generated sound waves and children sounds changing in space.

Pentagon-Presentation

The project may be presented         -       in a concert hall with light and video installation
-	in an especially built dodecahedron (sound room)
-	in a conference or a workshop
-	as video performance 


Sound material may be forwarded as CD-ROM or DVD.
