Franklin Furnace is proud to present Gabriele Leidloff, an artist in
residence in its series THE FUTURE OF THE PRESENT 2001, hosted by Parsons
School of Design, Digital Design Department.
-------------------
l o g - i n / l o c k e d o u t - a forum of art, neurology and communication.
Gabriele Leidloff initiated the forum l o g - i n / l o c k e d o u t as an
artistic production. l o g - i n / l o c k e d o u t invites artists
neuroscientists and entrepreneurs into a dialogue. This dialogue manifests
itself through exhibitions, debates, and salons creating a series of events
for participants and their artistic and scientific work.
l o g - i n / l o c k e d o u t creates a new form of dramaturgy. In the
delineation of existing events l o g - i n / l o c k e d o u t presents a
selectively arranged international network of specialists keen on social
relevance and potentially explosive themes:
- Applied technology in art and medicine
- Eye movement and cognition in relation to imagination and perception
- Speech versus narrative structure
Through this concentration of material, a self-updating program develops
which is continually inserted into events with the cooperation of the
organizers. l o g - i n / l o c k e d o u t creates artistic installations
for various cultural and economic events, its customers and the public.
Events are documented through ongoing installations such that build upon
one another while the circle of participants continuously enlarges and
expands. l o g - i n / l o c k e d o u t will produce itself over a five
year period ending in 2004 and reach fruition in a bilingual catalogue.
