(1) Tokyo, 4 Weeks

After Robotics
Robot Meme Exhibition

recommended by Gundam specialist designer and illustrator,
Katoki Hajime

Try and ask people you meet on the street for their associations
with the word 'robot.' Ten years ago characters such as Tetsuwan
Atom (Astro Boy) or Tetsujin No. 28 would have been the most
popular answers. But times have changed. Industrial robots with
only one certain functionality, or those built by students in
university robot ball game competitions have replaced human-
shaped robots, and with those the term 'robot' has experienced a

(2) Out of Tokyo
=================================================================

In vol. 026 of his column RT editor Ozaki Tetsuya comments an

Volume 18 of "Composite" Editor Sugatsuke Masanobu's diary

September 17 (Mon)

I'm at the opening party of the "Contemporary Productions" exhibition
at Recruit's G8 Gallery. "Contemporary Productions," the brainchild
of Shindo Mitsuo, doesn't require a long introduction. The 'kings
of covers' made the cover artworks for albums by Pizzicato Five,
Mr. Children, Misha, etc., and in 1996 we at Hougadou were involved
in an exhibition at Laforet Museum Harajuku, and compilation book
of their works…
