rental = luck of the draw at the airport rental counter in 
dusseldorf... ended up with a lexus is200... excellent tyres + brakes 
+slow enough to stay out of trouble. i am by no means a skilled driver, 
but skilled enough to know that driving the nordschleife is a very 
serious and very dangerous business. filming has been banned as of 
sometime last year due to numerous fatalities. too many drivers / 
riders going beyond their limits for the camera.

There are no special arrangements, just check the schedule for public 
days, buy a ticket on site for your desired number of laps, and drive. 
the right gear can probably be mounted in/on the car inconspicuously. 
the driver from the previous video site used some sort of lipstick 
camera mounted on his bumper/roof/etc. and fed them to a portable 
player i believe.
